Thursday, June 9, 2005

 

The Blowing Rock Planning and Zoning Board met on Thursday, June 9, 2005 in a work session. Chairman Jim West called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Members present were Dennis Quinn, Sue Sweeting, Cullie Tarleton, Nelda Miller, Albert Yount, Ron Mace and Jim Steele. Staff members present were Kevin Rothrock and Sherrie Pitts, Administrative Assistant.

 

Ms. Sweeting made a motion to approve the agenda presented. Mr. Quinn seconded the motion. All members voted in favor of the motion.

 

Mr. Yount made a motion for 25 foot front setback and 12 foot side and rear setback in R-A district. Mr. Mace seconded the motion. Mr. Rothrock stated that where a property is bordered by a public street and a private road, the setback from the private road would be the same as a lot line. All members were in favor of the motion.

Mr. Yount made a motion to include the northern assembly ground area, pin # 2818-40-4074, 2817-49-8951, 2817-59-3583 to be zoned R-A. Ms. Sweeting seconded the motion. All members were in favor of the motion.

Mr. Yount made a motion for the southern Blowing Rock Assembly Ground property below the cabins to be zoned R-A. Mr. Mace seconded the motion. Mr. Quinn asked to add a 150 ft R-10S buffer along Goforth Rd. All members were in favor of the motion.

Ms. Sweeting made a motion to send the map amendments to Town Council, seconded by Mr. Yount. All members were in favor of the motion.

Mr. Rothrock asked if anyone had anything for the agenda for the Planning Board meeting scheduled for June 16 and commented that staff had no agenda items at this time.

Mr. Yount made a motion to adjourn. Ms. Sweeting seconded the motion. All members voted in favor of the motion.

The meeting scheduled for June 16, 2005 was canceled due to lack of agenda items.

 

Adjourn

With no further business, the Planning Board adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
