Blowing Rock Board of Commissioners

Tuesday, May 22, 2001

The Mayor and Board of Commissioners for the Town of Blowing Rock met in special called session on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. Present were Mayor J. B. Lawrence, Commissioners Barbara Ball, Terry Lentz, Michael Sweeting, Charles Travis, and Rita Wiseman. Also present were Town Manager Don Holycross, Town Engineer Marion Rothrock and Town Clerk Barbara Beach.

1. Resolution Authorizing Application to National Park Service

Mr. Holycross submitted a draft resolution for consideration by the Council. The document would authorize the Town to apply to the National Park Service for approval of existing and proposed utility lines within the right of way along US Highway 321 on National Park Service property. Mr. Sweeting made motion that the draft resolution be approved as submitted. Mr. Travis seconded the motion, and all members voted in favor.

2. Budget Work Session

Members discussed each section of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2001-2002. No final action was taken on the proposed budget. The budget will be reviewed again at the

public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m.

Adjournment

There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned at 10:20 p.m.
