Tiered System

We operate in a "tiered-response" system. Both Blowing Rock Rescue and Watauga MEDICS are dispatched to the scene. The first tier consists of a Blowing Rock Rescue EMT-Intermediate in the Quick Response Vehicle (QRV) from the base, which provides quick on-scene treatment and service. The next tier consists of Watauga MEDICS, EMT-Paramedics in an ambulance from Boone, who will resume treatment and transport to a medical facility. With this tiered system we are able to provide the quickest and most efficient care possible to the citizens and visitors to the Blowing Rock Fire District.
