Apparatus

Tower 1 - Mission: First out Ladder Company on all first alarms on major buildings within the Town of Blowing Rock.

Tower 1 is a 2002, 70' Aerial Platform. The chassis, apparatus and aerial were manufactured by Sutphen. The rated pump capacity is 1,500 gpm and the water tank has a capacity of 350 gallons. Hose storage consists of two crossmounted pre-connects each holding 200' of 1-3/4"attack line. One rear mount pre-connect holding 350' of 2-1/2" attack line. The hose bed carries 900' of 4" and 750' of 3" supply hose. Primary responsibility is fire suppression, ventilation, rescue and to provide firefighter escape.

2802 - Mission: First out Engine Company on all first alarms within the Town of Blowing Rock and the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District.

2802 is a 1997 Freightliner FL 106 Chassis. The apparatus was manufactured by Ferrara Fire Apparatus. The rated pump capacity is 1,500 gpm and the water tank has a capacity of 750 gallons. Hose storage consists of three cross mounted pre-connects each holding 200' of 1-3/4" attack line. Two rear mounted pre-connects each holding 250' of 2-1/2" attack line. The hose bed carries 900' of 4" and 350' of 3" supply hose. This is our first out engine and is set up for urban or rural fire attack. It is also equipped with a hand held thermal imager to assist with search and rescue.

2803 - Mission: First out Engine Company on all first alarms within the Town of Blowing Rock.

2803 is a 1983 Century Custom. The chassis and apparatus were manufactured by American LaFrance. The rated pump capacity is 1,500 gpm and the water tank has a capacity of 500 gallons. Hose storage consists of four cross mounted pre-connects, two holding 200' of 1-3/4" attack line, one holding 150 of 1-3/4" attack line and one holding 250' of 1-3/4" attack line. Two rear mounted pre-connects each holding 250' of 2-1/2" attack line. The hose bed carries a total of 1,200' of 3" supply hose. Primary responsibility is water supply in the Town of Blowing Rock, but can also be used for urban or rural fire attack.

2804 - Mission: First out Engine Company on all first alarms within the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District.

2804 is a 1987 GMC Chassis. The apparatus was manufactured by EEI. The rated pump capacity is 1,000 gpm and the water tank has a capacity of 1,000 gallons. Hose storage consists of two cross mounted pre-connects each holding 250' of 1-3/4" attack line. One rear mounted pre-connect holding 250' of 2-1/2" attack line. The hose bed carries 900' of 4" and 550' of 3" supply hose. Primary responsibility is a water tanker for rural water supply in the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District but also is used as an engine for 2nd alarms in the Town of Blowing Rock.

2805 - Mission: First out Service Company on all first alarms within the Town of Blowing Rock and the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District.

2805 is a 1994 Freightliner FL 80 Chassis. The apparatus was manufactured by Ferrara Fire Apparatus. This support unit carries a wide range of equipment including a 10kw hydraulic generator, cascade air supply system, lighting, vent saws, self contained breathing apparatus, supplies for Hazardous Material incidents, tools for rescue and quick entry into any kind of building, and equipment for salvage and overhaul.

Brush 6 - Mission: First out on all brush fires within the Town of Blowing Rock and the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District.

2806 is a 1984 Chevrolet four wheel drive one ton chassis. The truck is equipped with a 125 gpm high pressure fire pump and the water tank has a capacity of 200 gallons. Forestry hose consists of 1,000' of 1-3/4 and 800' of 1'. This brush truck carries a wide range of forest fire fighting equipment including hose packs, shovels, chain saws, fire rakes and class A foam. Primary responsibility is for woods, grass and forest fires.

Brush 8 - Mission: First out on all brush fires within the Town of Blowing Rock and the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District.

2808 is a GMC four wheel drive one ton chassis. This truck is equipped with a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS). The CAFS is driven by a separate diesel engine which drives a 250 gpm fire pump and a 125 cfm air compressor. The water tank has a capacity of 200 gallons. Forestry hose consists of 1,500' of 1-3/4 and 600' of 1". This brush truck carries a wide range of forest fire fighting equipment including hose packs, shovels, chain saws, fire rakes and class A foam. Primary responsibility is for woods, grass and forest fires.

Engine 9 - Mission: First out Engine Company on all first alarms for water supply within the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District.

2809 is a 1961 Chevrolet chassis. The apparatus was manufactured by American LaFrance. The rated pump capacity is 750 gpm and the water tank has a capacity of 500 gallons. Hose storage consists of two rear mounted pre-connects each holding 250' of 1-1/2" attack line. The hose bed carries 600' of 2-1/2" attack line and 550' of 3" supply hose. Primary responsibility is water supply for tankers in the Blowing Rock Rural Fire District but also is used as an engine for 2nd alarms in the Town of Blowing Rock.

Car 1 - This vehicle is a 2001 Ford pickup truck mounted on a 4x4 wheel drive 3/4 ton chassis. Car 1 is used to transport firefighters to and from calls, traveling to training courses, and hauling equipment when needed.
