How do I register my child for Summer Day Camp?

The Summer Day Camp registration form will need to be completed and returned to the Parks and Recreation office. The application must include the first week's payment as a deposit. A copy of the child's birth certificate will also be required with a 1st grader's registration. You may download a registration form online or pick one up at the Parks and Recreation office, located on Park Avenue.

How do I rent a facility for a wedding or party?

Park facilities are reserved through the Parks and Recreation Department. For a fee, our gazebo at Broyhill Lake and the Rotary Picnic Pavilion at Davant Ballfield can be reserved.

When does Summer Day Camp registration begin?

Registration for Summer Day Camp usually begins early March for taxpayers and the middle of March for non-taxpayers.

Who is eligible to participate in Parks and Recreation programs?

Anyone is eligible to participate in Blowing Rock Parks programs, regardless of place of residence. A lower fee may be charged to Town taxpayers.

How do I reserve a Town Recreation Facility?

Facilities available for rental include the Rotary Picnic Pavilion and the Broyhill Gazebo at Mayview Lake. To reserve a facility, contact the Parks and Recreation office at 828/295-5222. A deposit and user fee are charged to reserve facilities, and a facility use agreement must be completed.



When is the Independence Day Parade and Fireworks?

The Parade is held at 2:00 p.m. on the Saturday that is closest to July 4th. A detailed schedule of events will be available on the Town website closer to the event.

The pool will open for the season on Memorial Day Weekend and will close Labor Day.

When is the Halloween Festival?

The Halloween Festival is scheduled for the last Saturday in October each year. Check the Town website closer to October for a detailed schedule of events.

When is Christmas in the Park?

Christmas in the Park is always the Friday following Thanksgiving. Activities begin late afternoon and continue until 9:00 p.m. The Lighting of the Town takes place at 5:30 p.m.

What programs are offered for 3-5 year-olds?

Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation offers many programs for children in this age group such as Kinder T-ball, offered in the spring; Kinder Soccer, offered in the fall; and Kinder Basketball, offered in the winter.

Robbin's Pool is located on Clark Street by the Broyhill Park in Blowing Rock. It is open to the public. Daily admission or season passes are available. The pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and is heated to maintain a constant temperature.

Where can I find recreation spaces in Town?

The Town’s recreation spaces are open to the public and free of charge. Memorial Park offers a large playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, and sand volleyball. Broyhill and Annie Cannon Parks are passive recreation areas designed for walking and quiet activities. The following is a list of the Town’s green spaces and their location.

What facility does Blowing Rock offer for special occasions?

Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation offers several facilities for weddings, birthday parties, picnics, and other gatherings. Please contact the office of Parks and Recreation for further information.

  • The Rotary Picnic Pavilion, located by Davant Ballfield, seats 100 persons and is available for picnics, group meetings, wedding receptions, etc.
  • Broyhill Gazebo, by Mayview Lake, is available for small weddings.
  • Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation Center, located in Memorial Park, is available for dances, parties and meetings.
  • The Robbins Pool at Broyhill Park may be reserved for pool parties during the summer season based on availability.

The Visitor Information Center is located at 7738 Valley Blvd (Hwy 321 By-Pass). The Visitor Information Center is for tourists and anyone wanting to learn more about what our area has to offer. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. all year round.
