Town of Blowing Rock Budget

 

The Blowing Rock FY 2010-2011 Recommended Budget has been submitted to the Town Council and a copy is available for public inspection in Town Hall, located at 1036 Main Street, Blowing Rock, N.C.

 

The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at the Town Council Chambers in Town Hall. Additional work sessions to review the budget will be held by the Town Council on Tuesday, May 18 at 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 19 at 3:30 p.m.. If needed there will also be one held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.  

 

The FY 2010-2011 Recommended Budget totals $6,396,970. The proposed budget has a tax rate set at $0.28 per $100 valuation, which is the current tax rate. The Recommended Budget includes - a proposed $3.00 per month fee to all residential solid waste customers to cover costs associated with implementation of a twice-a-month curbside recycling program, and changes to water and sewer fees, with an increase of $0.50 per month in both water and sewer fees and a reduction in the water interconnection fee of $1.00 per month, which results in no net change. All other charges/fees are unchanged.
