Dear Parade Participant,

Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation invites your participation in the Blowing Rock Independence Day Parade. This is the same Parade that has previously been sponsored by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce, it has just changed hands. This year the parade is scheduled for Saturday July 5^th at 2pm. We ask that you begin lining up at 12:00 pm and no later than 1:30 pm and please see the attached map for line up location. Line up location and start of the parade will be different from years past so please look at map and if you have any questions please contact us.

We are limiting the total number of entries to 100 participants. This allows each entry to have plenty of space to line-up. Therefore, if you would like to participate in our Independence Parade you will need to return your entry form fairly soon. This will also allow your group to be mentioned in press releases in the local papers. If you need to cancel your entry, please let us know as soon as possible so that another organization or individual may participate.

Please note the following points. These requests reflect the concerns of the citizens of Blowing Rock who have approached the Town with their suggestions. Please honor them. The contact person is responsible for all members in the group.

1. No parade participants may toss candy. It may be handed out along the parade route.

2. If your parade entry includes music, honking horns or sirens please note that on your entry form so that we may place each participant properly in the line-up. Also, if your entry plans to pause and perform, limit your performance time to a total of 3 minutes and mention it on the entry so that we will be aware of it

(you may only stop at the intersection of Main Street and Sunset Drive).
